Astonishingly, it’s been four and a half years since we heard the
smoky bluesy voice of Jim Crawford and his impeccable style of
guitar finger-picking. When you look at him (which you can, right)
you would not expect a voice like that to come out of such a cheery
He’ll probably mix some blues standards (maybe “Make Me A
Pallet On Your Floor”) with perhaps an old R&B song (he has been
known to do “People Get Ready”) with some of his own compositions,
notably “When The Rains Came”.
Here’s an excerpt from a song called “Sugar Cane” which you’d
swear was an old blues but in fact Jim modestly says it was written
in his kitchen while he was doing the washing up...
The openers tonight will be the Nuneaton duo Dragonhead who
usually have a touch of a Cajun flavour to their repertoire.
