The best in acoustic music: contemporary and traditional folk, country, blues, comedy, jazz & standards
Every other Monday (closed during July & August) 8.00 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.
Held at The Warwick Arms Hotel, High Street, Warwick CV34 4AT
People must be taking their holidays early these days - and I hope
they enjoyed them because they missed an evening of the tastiest
blues flavoured music you’re ever likely to hear.
Jim Crawford was on great form - laid back as ever - but playing
some beautiful guitar on his two Gibsons (what gorgeous tone they
both have!) and even a ukulele.
The repertoire included some “proper” blues from people like
Mississippi John Hurt, Charlie Patton and Leadbelly, a few songs
which might have surprised, such as “All Over Now”, but done in
a slower, soulful way and a few of Jim’s own songs.
If you weren’t there - wish you had been.
The evening was started
off in fine style by the popular
Nuneaton duo Dragonhead
with some of their t rade
mark Cajun style songs
like “Down On The Bayou”
and “Dance The Night Away”
which we’re told is TexMex...
