The best in acoustic music: contemporary and traditional folk, country, blues, comedy, jazz & standards
Some folk-style composers were chosen, like Joni
Mitchell, Neil Young, James Taylor and Don McLean but
there were some less expected writers represented too -
notably Marc Bolan of T. Rex! Chris & Hannah Tobin
(left) did “Hot Love” as one of their choices which
surprisingly, has a great “na-na-na” chorus to join in with.
The “Seventies” banner can be seen behind them -
Dragonhead (Anne &
John) reminded us of
Lindisfarne’s fine song
“Meet Me On The Corner”
and Mungo Jerry’s fun song “In The Summertime”.

Keith Donnelly joined
in the fun with a very
nice version of
“Vincent” followed by
a slightly bizarre
reading of “Wuthering
Heights” by Kate Bush.
This was possibly the best Top 20 Night there’s been at Warwick with 18 performers
doing a wide range of styles of 70’s hits - and all to an excellent standard.
