The best in acoustic music: contemporary and traditional folk, country, blues, comedy, jazz & standards
What Went On
October 24th - Concert Night - Flossie Malavialle      November 7th
    We saw Flossie during
the fund-raising evening
in April but tonight she
was solo.
It w as great to see a full
room and everyone
appreciated Flossie’s
enthusiasm and vitality
(I suppose that should be
panache” and
joi-de vivre”...)
    There was a wide range
of songs - a couple in
French, one recent song
by Paul McCartney and her
impression of Janis Joplin doing “Me & Bobby McGee”.
It was live acoustic music at its very best!
The opening act was The Melancholy
Brothers, fresh from the Top 20 Night
a fortnight ago. They certainly won
some new fans - including Flossie.
They did a selection of self-penned
songs including a new one called “Blue
Like You” inspired by something that
Russell’s grand-daughter had said,
and a couple of well-chosen covers,
one of which was “Time After Time”
and that certainly got everyone singing.
