What Went On
September 24th - Harp And A Monkey plus Dave Fry
Making their first visit to Warwick Folk Club, Harp And A Monkey won a lot of new admirers with a fine
display of musicianship and amazingly skilful use of pre-recordeded backings. Their songs manage to
sound old and modern at the same time, ranging in topic from people who took part in the Kinder mass
trespass and then fought against fascism (“Walking In The Footsteps Of Giants”); a cuckolded
molecatcher and songs relating to World War 1. An outstandingly entertaining evening!
The band’s instrumental line-up
is surely unique; this is the
glockenspiel played by Martin
Dave Fry was launching his
second  CD of mostly favourite
“oldie”songs including
Last  Thing On My Mind
and Early Morning Rain
Harp And A Monkey - Andy, Martin & Simon
The harp that gives
the band its name.
The monkey is still
mysteriously missing...
